For some residents/patients, you may want an alarm as soon as they leave the bed. For more self-reliant individuals, you may only wish to be informed if they have actually fallen. We have made it possible for you to tailor the notifications you receive precisely to each resident’s/patient’s needs. Each of the activities below can either have notifications enabled or disabled.

For how to change these settings please read here:

Changing notification settings on a resident

The three types of notifications

When a resident/patient changes to a new activity, you can choose to receive it at one of three levels of severity. There are the things you will want to respond to immediately – we call these 🔴 alarms; then there are the things that are useful to know but do not require immediate attention (for example, someone starting to get out of bed) – we call these 🟡 warnings; and finally, there are the changes that would simply be disruptive to hear constantly – we call these ⚪ silent.

Remember that what may be an alarm for one resident/patient could be set to silent for another – it all depends on their individual needs.

Alarm

These are events you will want to respond to straight away, such as a fall or a resident/patient at risk of falling leaving the bed. You will hear a loud alarm sound, you will receive a notification, and the resident’s/patient’s card will turn red and remain red until they are no longer in that position, or until staff enter the room. Fall alarms are treated slightly differently.

Warning

These are activities that are useful to know about but do not require immediate attention, such as a slightly confused resident/patient sitting up in bed. You will hear a soft warning sound, and the card will flash yellow for a short period before returning to grey.
